About this reader

"Mad Scientist (2000)" by Douglas Coupland

The novelist, Douglas Coupland, tells the story about a chair, or rather about the designers of that chair (Verner Panton) and what Coupland imagines may have been their intentions when they designed the chair in the late 1960s. What are your attitudes to modernist design? Are we still living (and designing) in Modernism's "long-shadow"? Is Modernism just another "style" or has it become something more?
